When Nintendo named one of their consoles the Nintendo 64, that name made logical sense. The Nintendo 64 runs on 64-bits, hence putting 64 in the title. The Atari 2600 however, didn’t run on 2600 bits, which is kinda obvious if you have seen or played any Atari 2600 games. So, did you ever wonder why the Atari 2600 has the 2600 after its name?
